It is my very great pleasure to announce the CKC BOD has
approved changes at their Board Meeting on March.24/06, which will allow Listed Breeds
to show in the CKC regular show ring for regular points and titles.
Since the Parson is a Listed Breed, having been approved by the CKC Membership
in the last referendum, we will be able to participate starting
September 1st
2006!
The APRTF Exec has been busy contacting Kennel Clubs to
have boosters. Five have been planned for 2006 and more are in the works
for 2007. Go to Upcoming Events for dates and locations.
The Belleville and Dist
KC shows on Oct 20, 21 and 22 will host our Parson Premier our club
"National", on Saturday the 21st. Since we are not yet an event holding club a
booster will have to suffice for this year and it will be at this show that our
club trophies will be awarded. Eukanuba has very graciously agreed to sponsor
it in celebration of our being able to join the CKC family of pure bred dogs
in the show ring.
To become an event holding club we must have three
Sanction Matches. Our first one will be on Oct 20th.(pending
CKC changes to Policy in June that will allow Misc clubs to hold sanction
matches) Hopefully we
will be able to get the three done in time for our nationals next year. I have
obtained the paperwork from the CKC and have it on file here as APRTF Exec
members have to sign it. I would ask our Regional Directors to think about
holding a sanction match at an event in your area. You will be given all the
help you require, along with the club banner, judging kits and some prizes.
The local clubs will also give you any help that you need.
CKC certification numbers will be given to dogs that
qualify that will enable them to participate. Three generation certified peds
from CKC approved kennel clubs, the registration slip, and a proper CKC form
are what is needed to apply for certification. If you are a CKC member they
will bill it to your CKC membership number.
To our American Friends:
The CKC has recently changed micro chips and now requires
what the rest of the world requires. An ISO micro chip.(or tattoo) If you do
not have these implanted in your dogs the CKC will not accept your paperwork.
Best to do it before you send it in to avoid delays. Download the CKC form
Application for Registration of an AKC registered Dog Owned by a Resident of
the USA. Take the form with you to the vet if you get it done that way.
As has always been the case, there are no domestic Parson
registries in Canada that have acceptable paperwork. Only the AKC paperwork in
the USA qualifies, FCI paperwork qualifies, along with individual countries
and of course The Kennel Club in England. A complete list may be obtained from
the CKC.
We owe many people our thanks. To Mr. Francois Bernier,
and Mr. John Hodgkinson Regional Directors and members of the CKC BOD, for
their spearheading of these changes. Thank you.
To the CKC Board who have been steadfast in their support
of our Recognition, and the CKC staff who have been with us from the start to
help us get it all in order. Thank You.
To the Founding Board of the APRTF who had a vision, and
the current one for following through, to our Members who stuck with us when
it looked very dark indeed. Thank you.
To our Breeders who have supported our trials with prize
donations, trophies, advertising and most importantly, with entries. We were
able to function as a club to see us through seven years. Thank You.
A lot must be done in a short period of time. I will keep
everyone apprised of developments as they happen. Check this site often for
updates.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Welcome to Canada! Welcome to the CKC. Let the Games
Begin!
